Mastering L&D: Achieve Learning Action & Lasting Behaviour Change

CFE - 245 Points

What does a franchisor need to do to create a successful franchise system? Develop successful franchisees. This is your Unifying Vision, so do you need to provide more training? No! Forget training. It doesn’t work. Learning and lasting behaviour change is what is needed.

Training is what the trainer delivers. Learning is what the training participant receives. Training without learning is useless and learning without transfer of learned behaviours to on-the-job action is a failure.

Join this masterclass to discover learning and development strategy that that is strategically designed to active action and measurable lasting results.

Who Should Participate?

Franchisor executives from either established or emerging franchise systems interested in developing effective learning & development strategy will benefit greatly from participating in this program. This includes senior leaders, field support teams and members of the learning & development team.

Why Participate?

Participating in Mastering L&D: Achieve Learning Action & Lasting Behaviour Change, allows you to shift from traditional training approaches to a learning and development strategy that drives real, lasting change. Instead of focusing on training delivery alone, you'll learn how to create programs that ensure learning is effectively transferred into actionable, on-the-job behaviour. This masterclass equips you with the tools to design, implement, and measure learning initiatives that truly impact franchisee success, aligning with your vision of developing thriving franchisee partners and a successful franchise system.

How Is It Delivered?

The program has been developed to provide an action based blended learning experience incorporating reading materials, eLearning sessions, interactive group coaching sessions, personal workbook activities, action planning and one to one mentoring to support implementation and accountability.

What Will I Learn?

In the Achieve Learning Action and Lasting Behaviour Change program, we will work through the steps necessary to transform your training function into a learning transfer station by applying the WICKAM formula for learning program design.

Firstly, you will determine what learning needs should be addressed. Then you will design learning activities that transfer learning to the recipient. A variety of blended learning techniques will be needed to facilitate learning transfer. Once the learning has been delivered, you’ll need to assess whether the desired behaviour change has occurred and has lasted. Finally, the Learning Transfer Station needs to have mechanisms in place to measure the effectiveness of learning transfer in terms of return on investment.

"I was fortunate to be able to read a copy of Jan's book in late 2022. It's an insightful, clearly structured and valuable tool for any aspiring or existing franchisor to put to use.
The more I read, the more I knew I wanted the opportunity to speak with Jan, do an interview and share that more broadly within my network. In our discussion, Jan clearly articulated key learnings from her research and some targeted insights that are laid out in her book for franchisors.
For those folks who were listening and gave me feedback later, the concepts and actions required (actually that are maybe demanded!) by the Silent Killers of Franchising Jan has identified are clear!
Great reading and great to listen to Jan's wisdom."
